Xsolla, a global player in video game commerce, has partnered with Curine Ventures to establish the Xsolla Curine Academy (XCA) in Kuala Lumpur. The academy, facilitated by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), aims to foster local talent within the gaming industry. Scheduled to open on April 18 at KL Eco City, this collaboration will support game developers and empower them with essential skills for career growth.

The Xsolla Curine Academy, a joint initiative by Xsolla and Curine Ventures, offers industry-aligned programs and endeavors to equip game developers with the competencies necessary for success in their careers.

The XCA provides a variety of courses, ranging from one to 12 months in duration. These courses encompass crucial topics including communication practices in the gaming industry, indie game design and development, computer graphic art, game strategy, and intellectual property incubation.

These programs are tailored to suit individuals interested in pursuing game development as a business venture. They provide practical, hands-on learning experiences to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills from conceptualization to post-launch success.

Centered around the needs of students, XCA offers three unique learning paths tailored to individuals with different levels of experience and career goals. These paths are crafted to cater to a wide range of students, ensuring they receive the necessary support and direction to excel in the highly competitive global gaming industry.

Through a combination of industry-relevant program design, access to XCA’s proprietary engine Megamod, and expert guidance, participants at XCA are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of the gaming industry and achieve their career goals.

Through practical, hands-on learning experiences, participants will gain the essential knowledge and skills to take a game from its initial concept to post-launch success.

This comprehensive approach encompasses various aspects of game development, including storytelling, character creation, project management, and marketing strategies tailored to the gaming industry. Additionally, XCA’s integration with Xsolla Funding Club and Accelerator creates a robust network of investors and publishers, providing learners with valuable opportunities to launch indie games and foster innovation in the gaming ecosystem.

David Stelzer, President of Xsolla, views the launch of XCA as a pivotal moment in democratizing game development and propelling Malaysian and ASEAN talent onto the global stage.

This initiative supports Xsolla and Curine Ventures’ shared vision of enriching the gaming ecosystem through training and collaboration, helping Malaysia become a hub for game development excellence in the ASEAN region.

Through strategic partnerships and a focus on creating intellectual property, upskilling talent, and fostering entrepreneurship, XCA aims to attract international companies and students, showcasing Malaysia’s capabilities and facilitating the successful execution of international projects.
