NativeX, a Vietnamese EdTech startup, has successfully raised $4 million in total funding within just eight months since its inception. The funding includes $1.5 million secured through SAFE instruments from angel investors in June 2023, with an additional $2.5 million completing its seed round. The funding was co-led by Ansible Ventures and Blueprint Ventures, with the participation of Northstar Ventures and others.
NativeX offers live classes taught by foreign experts, catering to the growing demand for English proficiency among job seekers in the region. NativeX’s system categorizes students based on their proficiency levels and timetables, offering personalized learning paths that set it apart from competitors. Paying students, on average, invest 15 million Vietnamese dong (US$608.8) in course fees, making NativeX the highest premium segment among online English teaching platforms.
Looking forward, NativeX plans to allocate 80% of its seed funding to expedite product development. A new conversational English program will be launched in June, catering to intermediate-level users and incorporating soft skills training.
Moreover, NativeX aims to collaborate closely with IT engineers to develop an ecosystem supporting their success in the global outsourcing IT market, furthering the local workforce’s opportunities in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and services sectors.
Ai Chau, Co-Founder and Head of the Academic team emphasized the company’s content-led curriculum design and learning experience, ensuring scalability and consistency in teaching quality as they scale.
Valerie Van V., Founding Partner at Ansible Ventures, underscored the alignment between NativeX’s innovative approach and their investment thesis, emphasizing the importance of upskilling in Vietnam’s EdTech market. She highlighted the need for local Vietnamese companies to invest in training curricula and top talent to remain competitive, especially as manufacturers strive for higher-quality products.
As a result, initiatives for transformation and upskilling, mainly on-the-job training, are expected to receive increased investments and efforts from business owners in Vietnam.
Ansible Ventures expressed excitement about co-leading NativeX’s seed round, affirming their belief in the company’s potential to empower top Vietnamese talents as they progress in their careers.
