Thailand’s logistics unicorn Flash Express to enter Laos

Thailand-based logistics and ecommerce startup Flash Express has tied-up with AIF Group to develop the logistics industry in the region. Flash Express and AIF Group Laos have announced a joint investment to launch Flash Laos, an air and land delivery service in Laos.

With the launch of Flash Laos customers will be able to courier parcels between Thailand and Laos. Users can use the mobile application to book courier services, track orders, check fees and charges from their mobile phones.

The two companies have said that they will be starting with this cross-border service between Vientiane Capital and Thailand by November this year.

The Flash Group had become Thailand’s first unicorn logistics business after fundraise of $150 million in Series D+ and E funding in just three years of starting its operations.

According to the company sources, Flash Group aims to expand into full-service logistics operations in neighboring countries while using Thailand as its regional logistics hub.

On the other hand, AIF Group of Laos upholds a broad portfolio across banking and finance, construction, telecommunications, infrastructure development and property. Now Flash Express is listed on the company’s website as part of the company’s portfolio.

About Flash Express

Founded in 2017 by Di Weijie and Komsan Lee, Flash Express operates a door-to-door pickup and delivery service. The logistics startup uses its fully in-house developed technology and Big Data to standardize and digitize the delivery process that has allowed it to increase its operational efficiency.

Under the Flash Group business, the logistics and transportation startup also provides other services that cover all areas to be the integrated ecommerce provider such as; Flash Fulfillment that deals in goods storage, Flash Logistics that offers big items delivery service, Flash Money offers financial service, Flash Home offers parcel delivery agent service.

Flash Express is funded by a range of investors including Beur Capital, Krungsri Finnovate, eWTP Capital, TCP Capital, Drubell, SCB 10X and others.
