Managing money, budgeting, and even handling financial decisions has been made easy due to the plethora of personal finance apps made available. However, not every money-tracking app there is actually worth downloading. The idea is to choose an app that fulfills more than one aim and one such app that we found fits the category is the Gini app.
Gini is first of its kind global smart money-tracking app that helps the users to sort out their finances in a simple yet smart way. The Gini app is the brainchild of Ray Wyand, Victor Lang, and Calvin Lang.
Ray, Co-founder & CEO initially started his journey with Citigroup, Victor, Co-founder & COO had put his stakes in a startup, and Calvin became a scientist. However, they left their respective jobs in 2016 to form Gini.
They developed this spending tracker by leveraging the latest technologies so as to make it compatible with various banks. According to this Hong Kong-based startup, their app can be linked to multiple bank accounts and credit cards from different providers. As a result, users can monitor all their spending in one place.
The Gini app has been powered by Salt Edge that has provided it with bank-level security. According to the company, the transactions, account balances that are displayed on the app are retrieved only in read-only mode. This implies that no one, even you, cannot make any changes to your credit card or accounts linked on Gini. The banking credentials on the app are encrypted to AES 256 bit standard thus making Gini as a safe and secure app.
Gini is available on the App store, you have to simply download the app create your account and select your bank account. Post this, you have to simply go to your online banking account and link all your credit cards and other bank accounts. The app has an auto-sync that helps the users to track their spending with regular insights from Gini.
The company has recently announced that it has received a USD 1.6 million funding from both Vectr Venture, a fintech firm and from international institutions. Gini plans to use this funding to expand globally. They plan to make their smart tracker compatible with 3000+ overseas banks across 60 countries by the end of 2019, starting with more than 60 banks in France, Hong Kong, Switzerland and the UK that are presently available.
The company boasts to have over 20,000 users in Hong Kong and has handled transactions worth USD765 million till date.
