Amazon-backed Good Glamm Group acquires ScoopWhoop

India-based digital media and lifestyle content platform ScoopWhoop has been acquired by the content-to-commerce company, The Good Glamm Group for an undisclosed sum.

This is Good Glamm Group’s second acquisition in less than a month, it had acquired the baby and mother care brand The Moms Co, which was one of the largest deals in the D2C space in India.

The group is presently “building and buying male grooming brands” as per reports. With ScoopWhoop’s user base being more than 60 percent male, this acquisition fits into the group’s vision of investing US$66 million (Rs500 crores) in the men’s category over the next three years.

Founders of ScoopWhoop, Rishi Pritam Mukherjee, Sriparna Tikekar, and Sattvik Mishra will continue to lead the business and will work closely with the co-founders of the Glamm Group. According to company sources, ScoopWhoop will continue to work as an independent brand and media house within the group umbrella.

“At ScoopWhoop, we’re proud that we’ve built a brand loved by young India for its fun, lifestyle focussed content.. Being part of Good Glamm Group gives us the chance to substantially scale up, while becoming a defining force in the content-to-commerce revolution,” said ScoopWhoop co-founder Sattvik Mishra.

With this acquisition, the Glamm Group now boasts of the largest digital reach for an ecommerce company in the country. It has more than 150 million users through its media division which includes India’s biggest digital media brands- POPxo and now ScoopWhoop.

Darpan Sanghvi, founder and CEO of the Good Glamm Group said in a statement, “I have been an ardent user and fan of ScoopWhoop for a long time. It’s a privilege to have Sattvik, Rishi, Sriparna join the Good Glamm Group family and have ScoopWhoop accelerate the Group’s foray into building a content-to-commerce platform for the burgeoning male grooming and personal care segment,”
He added that, existing investor of ScoopWhoop, Kalaari Capital will reinvest in Good Glamm Group.
