Fifth edition of Cvent’s APAC conference will examine AI, event ROI and Event-Led Growth as Singapore’s MICE sector records 35% growth in tourism receipts

Cvent is bringing its fifth edition of Cvent Accelerate Singapore to Fairmont Singapore on August 6, bringing together event planners, marketers and hospitality professionals to examine how artificial intelligence, event data and Event-Led Growth (ELG) are changing the role of business events.

The conference is the fifth Singapore edition of Cvent’s flagship Asia Pacific event and the first Cvent Accelerate in the region following the company’s recent global brand identity transformation. The event will feature keynote presentations, executive panels, breakout sessions, live technology demonstrations and networking, with discussions spanning AI in event technology, event ROI, strategic planning, venue discovery, sustainability and the future of business events.

The timing reflects a broader shift in the regional events industry. Cvent’s 2026 Asia Event Industry Report, based on a survey of 200 senior planners, marketers and event decision-makers from large organizations across Asia, examines how event programs are changing amid cost pressures, data security concerns and rising expectations around technology, sustainability and accessibility.

From running events to proving their business value

For Cvent, one of the central questions facing the industry is no longer simply how many events organizations should run, but how those events contribute to broader business objectives.

While speaking with AsiaTechDaily, Will Kataria, Country Head and Senior Director, Asia Pacific at Cvent, said the company wants this year’s conference to encourage a shift in how organizations evaluate events.

“Cvent Accelerate Singapore has always been about advancing the conversation around the future of the meetings and events industry, and this year is particularly significant. It is our fifth edition in Singapore and the first APAC edition since we unveiled our new brand identity at Cvent CONNECT 2026, reflecting both the momentum of the region and where the industry is headed.

“The mindset shift we want to encourage is moving beyond asking, ‘Should we do more events?’ to asking, ‘How do we prove ROI, connect event data to our broader marketing infrastructure, and attribute business impact?’ That is the conversation around Event-Led Growth that Accelerate Singapore is designed to advance.”

That question is becoming more relevant as demand for in-person business events remains strong. Cvent’s own 2026 Asia research points to continued expansion in event programs, while its global meeting destination data shows that Singapore retained the number one position among Asia Pacific meeting destinations for the eighth consecutive year. The ranking was based on more than US$20 billion in global sourcing and request-for-proposal activity through Cvent’s platforms in 2025.

Singapore’s broader MICE performance also provides a significant backdrop. The Singapore Tourism Board said the city hosted 156 ICCA meetings in 2025, an 8% increase from 2024, while maintaining its top Asia Pacific position for the 23rd consecutive year.

Kataria said the growth creates a need to focus not simply on event volume but on the quality and business impact of those events.

“The timing could not be more relevant. Singapore continues to strengthen its position as APAC’s leading business events destination, with MICE tourism receipts reaching S$2.3 billion in 2025, a 35% year-on-year increase (Singapore Tourism Board). At the same time, our latest Asia Event Industry Report shows that 71% of event professionals across APAC expect event volumes to increase in 2026. The opportunity today is not simply to run more events, but to make every event more measurable, connected and impactful.”

AI adoption is moving beyond experimentation

Artificial intelligence is another major focus of the conference, but Cvent’s executives argue that the technology itself is no longer the primary obstacle to adoption. As organizations begin applying AI across event planning, attendee engagement, content creation and post-event analysis, the quality of the underlying data and an organization’s ability to act on AI-generated insights become increasingly important.

Brian Ludwig, Executive Vice President, Sales at Cvent, told AsiaTechDaily that enterprise adoption is being constrained more by organizational readiness than by the availability of AI tools.

“Technology is increasingly production-ready. The real barrier to widespread AI adoption today is not whether the tools work. It is whether organisations have built the right data foundation, secured internal alignment, and developed the leadership conviction to act on what AI surfaces. That is where most enterprises are finding friction.

“We have committed more than US$1 billion to product development, AI and technology innovation over the next three years, backed by more than 25 years of proprietary event and hospitality data and a platform already supporting approximately 30,000 customers globally, including 89% of the Fortune 100. That foundation matters because AI in events is only as useful as the data and context behind it. Generic AI does not know your attendee behaviours, your pipeline targets, or your event programme history. Purpose-built AI does.”

The distinction is important for event technology because event data is generated across multiple stages of the attendee and organizer journey. Registration, attendance, engagement, content consumption, meetings, feedback and post-event activity can each provide signals, but those signals become more useful when connected to an organization’s broader marketing and customer data infrastructure.

Cvent’s approach, according to Ludwig, is therefore not to replace event professionals with AI, but to use the technology to strengthen decision-making.

“Our approach has always been People first, AI-powered. AI should amplify human decision-making, not replace it. By combining AI with event performance analytics, event-led growth reporting and CventIQ insights, organisations can connect event outcomes to broader marketing and business results, making it easier to prove value and earn sustained investment.”

What Cvent Accelerate Singapore will cover

The fifth edition will bring together discussions around several areas of change in the events industry. Sessions include “Decoding the Shift: B2B Event Trends & The Path Forward in the AI Age,” “The Future of Event Tech: The Next Act,” “AI-Enhanced RFP to ROI: How Planners, Marketers, and Hoteliers Win Together,” “Event Pipeline Anxiety: Solving the Fears That Keep Marketers Up at Night,” and “Relevance Redefined: How AI is Reinventing Venue Discovery for Planners.”

The program is designed to address the intersection between event planning, marketing and hospitality rather than treating event technology as a standalone operational function. That includes discussions around how planners and marketers can connect event activity to business outcomes, as well as how venues can use technology and data to respond to changing expectations from event organizers.

Attendees will also be able to see CventIQ, the company’s suite of AI capabilities embedded across its platform. Cvent says these capabilities are being applied across the event lifecycle, including planning, attendee engagement, content generation and post-event insights.

The company will have several executives available for media interactions at the event, including Brian Ludwig, Executive Vice President, Cvent; Graham Pope, Vice President, International, Supplier & Venue Solutions, Cvent; Will Kataria, Country Head & Senior Director, Cvent, Asia Pacific; and Navodit Srivastava, Director, Hospitality Cloud, Asia Pacific, Cvent.

The business case for live events is changing

The renewed focus on measurable event outcomes comes at a time when AI-generated content is making digital audience engagement increasingly difficult for marketers. Cvent’s recent research found that 85% of surveyed marketers and event professionals believe the rise of AI-generated content has made it harder to build audience trust, while 70% said events matter more, rather than less, as AI-generated content becomes more prevalent. The research points to a broader tension in marketing: as digital content becomes easier to produce, in-person experiences can become more valuable, but their business contribution still needs to be demonstrated.

This is where the Event-Led Growth conversation becomes relevant. Rather than measuring an event primarily through registrations, attendance or satisfaction, the approach seeks to connect events with pipeline generation, revenue influence, customer relationships and other business outcomes. Cvent’s 2026 Event-Led Growth research, based on more than 1,000 marketers in the US and UK, found that marketers using an ELG approach were 47% more likely to rank events as their top-performing channel.

For Asia Pacific, the challenge will be translating that model into organizations with different levels of data maturity, technology adoption and event infrastructure. Rising event volumes alone do not necessarily indicate greater business impact. As event budgets face scrutiny, the ability to connect event activity with measurable commercial outcomes is likely to become a more important part of the planning process.

A more measurable phase for business events

Cvent Accelerate Singapore comes at a point when Singapore’s MICE industry is expanding while event teams face pressure to make their programs more strategic. The combination of rising in-person event demand, growing AI adoption and increasing expectations around measurement is changing the definition of a successful business event.

The next phase of event technology is therefore unlikely to be defined solely by automation or more sophisticated event-management tools. The larger question is whether organizations can connect the data generated before, during and after an event to the decisions that matter to the business.

For Cvent, that means using AI and Event-Led Growth to move the industry toward a model in which events are not evaluated simply as individual experiences, but as connected components of marketing, customer engagement and revenue strategies. For event professionals, however, the more difficult task remains proving that connection with reliable data, clear attribution and outcomes that extend beyond the conference room.
