Healthtech startup Klinik Pintar, headquartered in Jakarta, has raised $5 million in a Series A1 funding round led by Altara Ventures. Participants in the funding included Infocom, Golden Gate Ventures, Skystar Capital, and Venturra. The company plans to utilize the new funds to expand both its network and product offerings.

Established by serial entrepreneur Harya Bimo in 2018, Klinik Pintar leverages technology to create a comprehensive health ecosystem by integrating clinics. The health tech startup offers a wide range of healthcare services, including doctor consultations, nursing, medicine, laboratory tests, and vaccinations for individuals of all ages.

Originally known as Medigo, Klinik Pintar operates clinics through both full ownership and partnership models. Klinik Pintar also supports the digitalization of third-party clinics through its software solutions. Additionally, it collaborates with businesses to deliver healthcare services to their employees. The startup aims to connect clinics to an integrated health ecosystem to emphasize accessibility through walk-ins, virtual clinics via teleconsultation, and home services.

Klinik Pintar’s software platform, Aplikasi Klinik Pintar (AKP), integrates with key healthcare entities in Indonesia, including the Ministry of Health (SatuSehat), the National Health Insurance program (PCare BPJS), and private insurance networks.

Operating 22 tech-enabled clinics in Greater Jakarta, the health tech company extends its influence by providing clinic management software, accreditation, and training to more than 1,500 third-party clinics across Indonesia as of November 2023.

The healthtech startup wishes to enter the corporate care market as it ventures into launching on-site clinics with a prominent local automotive manufacturer and plans for more in the future.

Additionally, Klinik Pintar plans to introduce a second neurology specialist clinic in Greater Jakarta. Leveraging its proprietary technology, the company reports that over 5% of all clinics in Indonesia are now utilizing its digital health solutions.

“By providing first- and third-party clinics with best-in-class tools, the company is well positioned to expand rapidly across Indonesia,” Gavin Teo, General Partner at Altara Ventures, said in their official release.

While specific financial details were not disclosed, the health tech startup reported a 120% year-on-year increase in revenue for 2023, eyeing a threefold growth in the coming year.

AKP aims to streamline clinic operations by offering direct procurement integrated with inventory systems. This eventually allows the efficient ordering of medicine, consumables, and equipment at group-purchase prices.

Altara Ventures General Partner Gavin Teo expressed confidence in Klinik Pintar’s potential for rapid expansion, emphasizing the company’s blend of high-quality healthcare services with battle-tested practice management software.
