Vietnamese AI startup Filum AI, which specializes in customer experience management (CXM), has secured $1 million in funding from leading regional investment firms and strategic investors. The funding round saw participation from Nextrans, VinVentures, and TheVentures, along with key backers such as Hung Tran, founder of Got It and AoeVietnam.org, and Tran Anh Dung, founder of MOG.
Filum AI announced the investment on March 18, showing strong confidence in AI-driven CXM solutions. The funding marks a key milestone for Vietnam’s growing AI sector, with VinVentures—a subsidiary of the country’s largest conglomerate, Vingroup—joining as a strategic investor.
Founded in 2020 by AI and digital experts from Silicon Valley and Vietnam, Filum AI is dedicated to helping businesses drive sustainable growth through AI-powered customer experience management (CXM) solutions. The company is led by CEO Tran Van Vien, an entrepreneur who co-founded Base.vn, which was later acquired by FPT in 2021. With over a decade of experience in digital transformation, he aims to lead the CXM platform in the region.
Filum AI provides AI-driven solutions that optimize customer interactions, automate workflows, and enhance customer journey analytics. Its technology is widely adopted by major enterprises across retail, finance, and service industries, helping businesses improve operational efficiency and deliver personalized customer experiences. The startup is particularly focused on developing AI Agents—autonomous AI-powered assistants designed to streamline customer engagement and support.
Despite challenges in the global funding environment, Filum AI’s successful fundraising highlights strong investor confidence in its technology and growth potential. A representative from VinVentures described the company as one of the rare startups with strong technological expertise and a clear strategic direction. This investment is also among the first made by VinVentures since its official launch in October 2024.
With the newly raised capital, Filum AI plans to expand its research and development team, accelerate product innovation, and enhance customer support. The company also aims to scale its operations beyond Vietnam, targeting broader expansion into Southeast Asia’s fast-growing digital economy.
Vietnam’s AI market is rapidly evolving, with customer experience automation emerging as a key competitive advantage for businesses. Investors see strong potential for AI-driven CX solutions in the region, given the increasing demand for hyper-personalization and predictive analytics. The Ventures, which led the funding round, believes Filum AI’s cutting-edge technology will help it become a dominant player in the Southeast Asian CXM market.
CEO Tran Van Vien expressed confidence that the investment will accelerate Filum AI’s innovation in AI-driven customer experience solutions, helping businesses optimize operations, enhance personalization, and reduce costs. He emphasized that AI is not just a tool but a key driver of long-term business growth. “As AI continues to shape the future, this funding will unlock opportunities for financial and technological collaborations, strengthening Vietnam’s position as a leading AI hub in the region,” Vien stated.
Filum AI has earned industry recognition, being named the top AI startup in Southeast Asia by Google for Startups Accelerator. The company is strengthening collaborations with global tech leaders like Google, Zalo, and PLC while also expanding its partnerships with major brands such as Audi, Hwangha Mobile, Hafele, The Face Shop, and Beauty Box. These alliances aim to enhance its AI-powered customer experience management solutions.
