Hanoi-based Software as a Service (SaaS) startup Base has launched a Human Resources Management (HRM) platform for enterprises of all sizes. With this platform, Base offers B2B applications to markets in Southeast Asia.
In 2016, Base launched its e-hiring platform, the first fully-fledged applicant tracking system of Vietnam. Base received its first round of funding in 2016 from 500 Startups and VIISA. In December 2018, Base raised its Pre-Series A of US$ 1.3 million in a round led by Alpha JWC Ventures and Beenext.
“We got hundreds of requests from existing clients to launch a HRM platform. Human resource management is critical to the success of organizations of all sizes. So we spent the last two years thinking about HR from different perspectives and we believe that a good HR solution would help companies not only to “manage people”, but also help them develop and build a good culture. Base.vn is trusted and used by over 5,000 enterprises in Vietnam. We want to work with them on the next journey: how to manage the workforce and build a better company,” said Pham Kim Hung, CEO, Base.vn.
Despite numerous theories about human resource management, practical application is quite limited. The underlying reason is that companies are so different from each other and it’s never easy to build a company which keeps growing, while having a well-structured organization and maintaining a good culture. Base HRM addresses this challenge by providing +20 integrated apps covering four areas: organization design, attendance management, performance management and people development.
“With Base HRM, we want to help enterprises establish a modern and highly practical HR system. Soon they will see the actual results, not only a professionally managed organization, but also an increment in terms of employee’s efficiency and responsibility,” Hung shared.
While most companies consider HR to be vital, in reality they do not know where to start. Consequently, HR departments are limited to perform only two basic tasks: attendance management and payroll. Many roles of HR, especially developing people, should be the company’s top mission which requires collaborations of many departments and roles. Establishing organizational structure and deploying effective policies would be a long-term and strategic task. “HR management should focus on setting up a well-structured organization with clear roles & responsibilities; and building and deploying effective policies on a daily basis. We want to make sure those tasks are done in the most easy way in Base HRM”, shared Hung.
