LegalKart was founded in December 2018 by Dr Arvind Singhatiya and is based out of Gurgaon. It also helps professionals collaborate and work as a team via the platform, provides live case updates, financial management features and many others. LegalKart targets all lawyers across India as their consumers, providing them with an opportunity to improve the quality of their practice using the AI-powered smart platform. Recent statements from the firm have shown their efficacy in optimizing litigation by providing online advice to reduce it by almost half, and even eliminating the need in some cases. 

The Mission

As a legal-tech startup that injects technology into the day to day operations of lawyers, LegalKart has both short term and long term goals to penetrate and improve the system in a wide variety of ways. The short term goal focuses on helping lawyers. As a legal practice management platform, the app allows lawyers to run and expand their practice. They can manage their paperwork, cases and clients, as well as connect with new clients, take up new assignments and grow their network and their practice with virtual assistance. The platform aims to empower the individual lawyer, reducing workload and allowing them to focus more on other aspects of their practice.

LegalKart also has long term goals and aims to evolve as time passes into a broader, more powerful tool. It is an AI-enabled system, utilizing all the data and instructions given to it to further boost its capabilities. The vision is to empower the system to be capable of many functions including automatic contract drafting, smart legal research using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing, document vetting, predictive analysis of cases and other functionalities. The platform aims to form into an integrated ecosystem with lawyers, clients, and businesses interacting on it.

Investments and Support

LegalKart raised their seed funding back in October 2019, from four individual investors. Pallav Singh, Sudarshan Gangrade, Pranay Jivrajka and Mitesh Shah are the four backers of the company, raising a total of $35 Million. With many individuals and companies looking for online services, LegalKart seems to be perfectly placed to take advantage of the opportunity at hand.

Future Scope

The pandemic has revealed flaws in our system which can be repaired by the proper utilization of technology. With many traditional sectors looking to take themselves virtually, lawyers and clients have also taken to LegalKart for running their practices and for advice respectively. The company bills clients for lawyers, providing much-required consultancy for less than 500 rupees for 15 minutes. While Covid has exposed the flaws, LegalKart has provided the sector with the obvious solution.
