Medlinker is a Beijing based Healthtech startup founded in 2014. The Chinese platform started as social media connecting medical professionals in the Medical Alliance, allowing them to exchange all kinds of information regarding the field. Certified doctors on the platform could communicate with each other, sharing knowledge about diseases, treatments, medicine, expert advice and any wide range of topics.

Medlinker -About The Company

Medinker

Medlinker today has grown into a giant community-driven platform that allows doctors and patients to connect, driving internet-based medicine in the Chinese healthcare system. The country is expected to have a vast internet medicine system, specifically in chronic disease management. The sector is widely progressing across the globe, with healthcare being one of the many businesses taken online due to the injection of technology into the field.

The Strategy

On the surface, Medlinker is a social media platform focused solely on medicine and medical professionals. However, it exhibits significant potential to revolutionize traditional healthcare, which is why it is such a lucrative market. For Chronic Disease management alone, the Chinese market scale is north of $300 million, and this is the target for Medlinker.

As an online platform that transcends distance and other logistical issues, Medlinker can connect professionals on an unprecedented scale. The platform allows not only communication but collaboration and sharing of information that can assist research, medicine, monitoring and patient care. Virtual platforms offer an edge on realizing hierarchical diagnosis and treatment, improving patient compliance, reducing medical treatment threshold, optimizing diagnosis and streamlining the entire process to improve overall efficiency.

The Relevance

Healthtech platforms are not only being recognized as innovators, but also necessities. The pandemic has put into perspective our inability to adapt to disruptive medical emergencies, and digital infrastructure that can support medicine virtually is a need of the hour.

Medlinker is a platform that focuses exclusively on the Chinese healthcare sector, on Internet chronic disease management. It has more potential in this field than any other company, particularly due to what it offers. Reliable professionals and promising products using the platform to reach the target audience combined with the online healthcare sector now being more relevant than ever, the landscape of the industry are ripe for change.

Growth And Investments

With the popular industry model of social media coupled with the healthcare needs of the largest country on Earth, Medlinker is disrupting the system in the best way possible. A communication platform that connects all the stakeholders in a time-sensitive sector like healthcare has much scope. All these factors propelled its valuation past the Billion dollar mark in 2018 and have also received considerable backing during all six of its fundraising attempts.

Medlinker has received a total of $247.2 million in funding across all its rounds. Its latest Private Equity round raised an undisclosed sum from Hermitage Capital, the same as its previous round. Both were conducted in 2020, with the latest being announced in November.

The firm has shown substantial growth and continues to be a disruptive force in the world’s largest and fastest-growing market. Their innovative approach to improving the current healthcare network shows a bright path to the future.
