Being Juice, a Malaysian-based juice startup, has raised US$1 million in seed funding from a round led by venture capital firms 500 Global and BEENEXT. The funds will support the brand’s growth strategy, which includes opening 30 new locations across Malaysia in 2025, as well as launching its inaugural international store in the Philippines later this month.
Founded by Sayantan Das, the former CEO of Foodpanda’s operations in Malaysia and Brunei, Being Juice aims to strengthen its local and regional presence.
Being Juice, launched in April 2024, has quickly gained traction with its smoothies made from 100% real fruits and vegetables. The brand offers 16 unique flavor combinations crafted to suit the vibrant Southeast Asian palate without compromise. In less than a year, it has expanded to six outlets across Klang Valley, including high-traffic malls like NU Sentral and Atria Damansara.
Founder Sayantan Das, former CEO of Foodpanda Malaysia and Brunei, sees the recent funding as a major milestone. “This investment connects us with backers who share our vision. We’re grateful for the support and excited to expand, making healthier choices more accessible,” he said.
With the fresh capital, Being Juice plans to accelerate its expansion, targeting 30 new stores across Malaysia in 2025. The company is also gearing up for international growth, with its first overseas outlet set to launch in the Philippines this month.
In addition to its expansion efforts, Being Juice is working on creating a mobile app aimed at improving customer experience and fostering a loyal community. The brand is also undergoing a refresh to strengthen its position in the health-conscious beverage market.
With established players like Tealive and ZUS Coffee achieving notable success both locally and internationally, Being Juice is aiming to become a major contender in Malaysia’s beverage scene. While juice has long been a staple in the market, with global brands like Boost Juice and local names such as Juice Works, Being Juice’s commitment to 100% real fruits and vegetables, paired with its venture capital backing, is expected to help the brand to capture attention and expand rapidly.
The company is also refreshing its branding to strengthen its market presence and attract a larger audience. Exciting upgrades are expected in the coming months.
