The Korea Innovation Convergence Summit 2025 wrapped up last week in Washington, D.C., taking an important step in South Korea’s push to bring its growing SaaS startups to global markets. Held on June 18–19 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, the event focused on building strong, practical partnerships with U.S. companies and government agencies.
Led by Korea’s National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), the summit was organized in partnership with the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), Didim365, and beSUCCESS Media Group. It was a key part of the Global SaaS Market Penetration (GSMP) program aimed at helping Korean SaaS startups expand globally.
This summit focused on forging real business outcomes—strategic pilot projects, channel partnerships, and procurement dialogues—through highly curated matchmaking between Korean SaaS innovators and U.S. stakeholders.
The summit spotlighted eight government-backed Korean startups that were selected for their technical excellence, scalability, and strategic fit with U.S. market demands. These companies addressed a wide spectrum of sectors, from AI and smart cities to media, design, and enterprise productivity:
These companies participated in over 80 one-on-one business matchmaking meetings with U.S.-based buyers, systems integrators, government procurement leaders, and public-sector tech teams. Feedback was immediate and valuable, with many conversations progressing into follow-up proposals and pilot planning sessions.
What distinguished the Korea Innovation Convergence Summit 2025 was its focus on practical, market-entry execution. Beyond product showcases, Korean startups were given direct access to industry leaders with deep experience in U.S. enterprise technology deployment, procurement compliance, and go-to-market strategy.
Key speakers included:
Together, these experts unpacked strategies on everything from navigating public-sector tenders to localizing UX and brand messaging for American users.
“This event wasn’t just a showcase—it was about creating bridges,” said James Jung, CEO of beSUCCESS Media Group, who also moderated the summit’s main discussion panel. “The level of dialogue between U.S. and Korean participants was focused, practical, and outcome-driven.”
Instead of a typical “demo day” format, the summit embraced a deal-oriented structure. All meetings were pre-arranged based on commercial alignment between the Korean companies and U.S. stakeholders. Each day concluded with a Partner Award Ceremony recognizing U.S. participants who offered meaningful insight or facilitated concrete partnership pathways.
Takeaways from the summit include:
Building on the momentum from Washington, the GSMP initiative is setting its sights on Japan. The next major event is scheduled for Japan IT Week / DX Week, taking place from October 22–24, 2025, at Makuhari Messe. Korean startups are expected to continue showcasing how their cloud-native, AI-driven solutions can meet regional and global demand for secure, scalable software.
With continued support from NIPA, Korean SaaS ventures are not only aiming to enter overseas markets but to thrive as long-term digital partners in global innovation ecosystems.
