Korea Blockchain Week 2019 – The biggest blockchain event in Asia “D.FINE”

D.FINE

D.FINE is a premier blockchain event to be held on 30th September and 1st October as part of the Korea Blockchain Week 2019 at Intercontinental Grand Seoul Parnas. Global professionals from leading industry companies and startups, academic institutions, financial service giants, and policy groups will be coming to Seoul to discuss the real and virtual applications of blockchain technology.

Blockchain in Korea 

Blockchain technology has gained popularity across the globe due to a surge in cryptocurrency prices like Bitcoin. Korea due to its fast adoption of emerging technologies is witnessing a sudden growth in blockchain in many industries like logistics, trade, health, finance, etc. To highlight the importance of blockchain technology a Korea Blockchain Week 2019 is being organized this year from September 27- October 4. The Korea Blockchain Week 2019 is one of the most famous blockchain conference held in Asia and it was held last year in July 2018. This year the week promises to be bigger and better, it will have several networking events, activities, investors forums, knowledge workshop and the biggest blockchain event ever D.FINE. 

The Organizers

D.FINE is being presented by a blockchain consulting and accelerator firm, FACTBLOCK. The company aims to link the Korean market with global blockchain startups. FACTBLOCK offers advisory services that include corporate partnerships, media & marketing acceleration, localization solutions, investor & exchange relations, and ICO/IEO process optimization.

Besides that, the company also provides marketing services along with organizing conferences and events. The company works with some of the top media channels in the country for their marketing services that include traditional PR services. They also offer hand-selected PR services like interviews, custom VIP meetings, and videos. FACTBLOCK is the co-host of the Korea Blockchain Week 2019 and is also into organizing other global networking events and conferences to bring together leading investors, corporates, projects, and academic partners from across the world.

Korea Blockchain Week 2019- Highlights

The Korea Blockchain Week 2019 will have over 4000 attendees and more than 50 speakers from across the globe. The complete event will be covered by over 40 media partners. Alongside D.FINE there are more than 20 other conferences and networking events being organized. 

On 29Th September there will be D.FINE VIP party that will be held at State Tower Namsan. However, this party is by invitation only. The main D.FINE event will be held at the InterContinental Grand Seoul Parnas on 30th September & 1st October. Those who have the event ticket can also attend D.FINE Networking Mixer which will be held on 30th September and the official D.FINE after party on 1st October both to be held at TBD.

D.FINE – What’s in store for you?

D.FINE the main event at KBW2019 will be an offline meeting place for top blockchain professionals across the globe. The event is sponsored by the Seoul and Busan, both are the major metropolitan cities of South Korea. Speakers to watch out for at the event

The event will be facilitated by a number of renowned speakers from around the world. So when the biggest names in the industry will take over the stage at the main event, you can expect a lot of new and valuable insights as an audience. We have listed here our top 10 speakers whom you should not miss out at the event.

Two veterans of Blockchain technology to look out for at the D.FINE event are Nick Szabo and Dr.Adam Back. Nick Szabo, is a legal scholar, cryptographer, and a computer scientist is well-known for his valuable research in digital currency and digital contracts. He invented the phrase “smart contracts”. His opinions, till date, are most trusted and respected in the blockchain space and is also known as the “father of cryptocurrency”. 

Dr. Adam Back, a British cryptographer and a crypto-hacker is one of the first few people to work on Bitcoin. He invented “Hash-Cash”, a proof-of-work system which was initially used to limit denial-of-service attacks and email spam in 1997. The PoW system since then has been used as a mining algorithm for major cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin. Dr. Back is presently serving as the CEO & co-founder at Blockstream. 

Both these veterans will be presenting keynote addresses at the event to identify the present state of blockchain and cryptocurrency while speaking with the audience on the opportunities that the government and global companies can look forward to in the coming years in the blockchain sector.

Besides Dr. Adam Back and Nick Szabo, other prominent personalities will also be adorning the stage as the speakers at the event. Here is the brief of some of the top speakers at the D.FINE 2019 event.

Mike Novogratz, who was also part of KBW2018 will be part of the event this year as well. He is the famous macro-hadge funder turned blockchain enthusiast. His experiences and life stories will bring a lot of value to the event. Mr. Novogratz is the CEO & co-founder of Galaxy Digital. 

Another speaker to look forward to at the D.Fine event is Gavin Wood. He is a British computer scientist who is also the co-founder of Ethereum and is presently the chairman and CTO of Parity Technologies. Mr. Wood is also the inventor of the Solidity language and he also started Polkadot, a blockchain interoperability project.

We also have Brittany Kaiser, a public advocate working on the #OwnYourData campaign as one of the speaker at the event. She was the main subject of Netflix’s original documentary #The Great Hack. Ms. Kaiser is also the partner and co-founder at Digital Asset Trade Association.

Independent strategy research boutique Fundstrat Global Advisors’ Managing Partner and Head of Research, Thomas J. Lee will also join us for the event. With over 25 years of experience in equity research & macro markets and as an accomplished Wall Street Strategist, Mr. Lee has been top-ranked by ‘Institutional Investor’ for many years.

One more well-known personality from the blockchain space is Sergey Nazarov, he is the CEO of Chainlink. The company’s network is already being used by enterprise companies such as; Oracle, Google, and SWIFT. It provides reliable tamper-proof inputs and outputs for complex smart contracts on any blockchain.

Kevin Chou, co-founder, and CEO of video game company Kabam is an American video game entrepreneur. Mr. Chou has recently announced his new startup, Forte, which is a SF-based blockchain gaming company. The company aims to accelerate the use of blockchain technology in the gaming industry. He is a visionary in the mobile gaming world, so missing out on his session would not be a great idea.

The founder of Algorand, Silvio Micali has designed a unique PoS blockchain platform. This unique platform guarantees true decentralization, security, and scalability. Mr. Micali is also a receiver of Turing Award in computer science, RSA prize in cryptography, and the Gödel Prize in theoretical computer science.

The CEO and Managing Partner at Hashed, Mr. Simon Kim will also be addressing the audience. He had given an intriguing opening keynote at the Korea Blockchain Week event in 2018. The company plans to introduce new players from across the globe into the Korean Blockchain industry to make an international impact.
