Meet the Investor of Month

With over two decades of experience spanning emerging technology and venture capital, Daniel has made contributions to the investment space. At VU Venture Partners, Daniel spearheads early-stage investments in sectors such as Consumer, Enterprise, FinTech, Healthcare, PropTech, and emerging technologies including AI, AR, Robotics, and SpaceTech. Advocating for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in alignment with the UN PRI, Daniel exemplifies responsible investing.

Daniel’s journey began with a notable acquisition, leading to a series of acquisitions, a NASDAQ IPO, and eventual purchase by Oracle in 2003, then the 2nd largest tech firm globally. 

In his 20s, Daniel achieved his first startup exit which carved the beginning of his investment career. Subsequently, he leveraged his experience to establish StartInno Ventures, an initiative that reached thousands of startups through online resources, pitching events, and successful investment facilitation.

During his PhD, he conducted innovation research through a series of published papers utilizing Social Network Analysis to measure cohesion within startup teams. The visualization methods developed during his research were later adopted into RealAR’s product, showcasing the practical application of his academic insights.

As a Techstars Alumni and co-founder of RealAR, a Techstars Portfolio company, Daniel’s impact on the startup ecosystem is profound. RealAR’s acceptance into Techstars Accelerators, with a mere 1% acceptance rate, showed the caliber of his entrepreneurial endeavors. 

Recognized as one of Australia’s Top 100 Innovators by The Australian, Daniel’s achievements have pushed the boundaries of innovation. His keynote address at Apple’s global online event, “Transforming Construction with Apple and RealAR,” further cements his status as a thought leader shaping the future of technology.
