Indonesia-based raw material procurement platform Bababos has closed its pre-seed funding round, with East Ventures as the lead investor.

The startup plans to use the additional capital to build a seamless platform that connects small and medium enterprise (SME) manufacturers directly with quality raw materials sourced from top suppliers and producers.

Bababos is committed to improving the supply chain for SME manufacturers, who often struggle with the highly fragmented raw materials supply chain in Indonesia.

The platform helps SME manufacturers obtain easy access to a diverse range of top-quality raw materials, including steel, other metal products, polymers, and chemicals.

It eliminates the need to manage multiple suppliers and digitizes administrative tasks for a seamless experience. Bababos also offers flexible payment options that ease the financial burden on manufacturers, allowing them to focus on the production of high-quality goods.

Bababos integrates modern technology into the traditional industry by leveraging big data to accurately cluster demands based on raw material needs and geographical spreads.

The platform facilitates fast and timely delivery from suppliers to customers, providing a seamless experience and cost savings benefits. Bababos may be accessed using its web app.

According to Bababos, the company has experienced remarkable growth since its launch, with an average monthly revenue growth of over 100 percent. The startup currently serves over 50 SME manufacturers, with some experiencing a two- to three-fold increase in business.

Bababos co-founder and CEO Fajar Adiwidodo believes that the platform will serve as the one-stop procurement platform, working with a curated selection of the nation’s top suppliers to positively impact and bring advancement to Indonesia’s manufacturing industry.

East Ventures partner Melisa Irene sees Bababos as a real testament to tech-based solutions in the highly fragmented conventional industry. The pre-seed funding will help Bababos to scale up and continue its mission of helping SME manufacturers access top-quality raw materials while streamlining the procurement process.
