Inflection Point Ventures, 9Unicorns, Singapore-based Wavemaker Partners, and prominent angels like Kunal Shah, Sanjeev Mishra, and Razorpay founders have invested in Hospals, a cross-border health benefits and travel platform that enables international patients to access healthcare across India, UAE, Turkey, and Thailand.

The $3.5 million pre-Series A money raised will be utilized to grow regionally to reach a GMV of $900 million mn ($12,054,919.61), providing 1.5 million subscribers and patients around the world with high-quality medical and aesthetic services, Hospals said in a statement.

The startup claims that over 22000 individuals from 38 countries have received medical advice, teleconsults, and surgical treatments through its network of over a hundred hospitals.

Hospals Assured, the company’s health benefits membership, allows users from Africa and Asia to receive unlimited doctor teleconsults and free surgical operations worth up to $15,000 at Indian hospitals.

Vinay Bansal, Founder & CEO, Inflection Point Ventures says, healthcare expenses which include treatment costs and traveling expenditure can be daunting for a family.

With Hospals, Bansal added, it can help ease the stress as their model connects families with the best doctors and surgeons in their respective disciplines. Plus, they also provide translation and residential assistance close to the hospitals.

Dr. Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-Founder of 9Unicorns and Venture Catalysts, said they believe Hospals will become the most important player in the cross-border healthcare industry.

Danish Ahmed established Hospals. Suneel Kapur and Obaidullah. Suneel formerly worked for Fortis Hospitals as the Group Sales Director and Radiant Group, which was subsequently bought by Max Healthcare, as the Chief Marketing Officer. He helped almost a million people from 120 countries with cancer, transplants, cardiac, and other ailments over his career.

Danish Ahmed, who co-founded Hospals after leaving his position as Vice President at Paytm, said through Hospals Assured, International Telehealth and our concierge travel services.

Hospals is enabling people across Asia & Africa to access world-class healthcare.

“We’re rapidly expanding our network of hospitals and collecting data points across the spectrum to help patients find the best surgeons and clinics across Asia,” Ahmed said in a statement.

Hospals will soon launch fintech services like medical loans & crowdfunding to help patients finance their treatments beyond insurance coverage, so that each human has access to the best healthcare globally
