Indonesia-based agritech startup Elevarm has raised US$4.25 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Intudo, with ongoing support from Insignia Ventures Partners and 500 Global. Headquartered in Bandung, the company focuses on boosting smallholder farmers’ productivity while advancing sustainable horticulture practices to enhance agricultural efficiency and livelihoods.
Elevarm aims to address key challenges in the farming sector, particularly limited access to high-quality seedlings and fertilizers, which restrict smallholders from maximizing yields. The company helps farmers achieve higher productivity and more profitable harvests by providing essential farming inputs, strengthening Indonesia’s agriculture sector.
With the fresh capital, Elevarm aims to expand its seedling varieties and develop new bio-based fertilizers and pest control solutions to improve soil health and crop resilience. The company also plans to enhance its AI-driven digital tools, providing farmers with real-time insights and precision farming recommendations to optimize yields and streamline operations.
Founded in 2022, Elevarm operates an in-house research and development unit, NextBio, which focuses on creating sustainable agricultural inputs. The company produces high-quality seedlings in controlled greenhouse environments, ensuring consistent growth and resilience. Elevarm aims to help smallholder farmers adopt more efficient and eco-friendly farming practices by integrating technology and research.
Currently, Elevarm supports over 15,000 farmers across West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta. It has partnered with more than 30 institutions, including government agencies, universities, and financial organizations like Indonesia’s agriculture ministry, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), IPB University, Bank BJB, and Amartha. The company also works with NGOs and research labs to advance sustainable farming solutions and improve access to agricultural resources.
These collaborations strengthen the company’s ability to provide farmers with better access to resources and knowledge.
A key component of Elevarm’s strategy is its AI-powered Elevarm App, which helps field teams and farmers with pest management, irrigation optimization, and advanced planting techniques. By leveraging data-driven insights, the platform enables smarter decision-making, improving farm efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
Intudo’s founding partner, Patrick Yip, emphasized Elevarm’s potential to transform Indonesia’s horticulture sector, highlighting its focus on innovation, technology, and sustainability. He noted that by continuously investing in these areas, the company could drive a more productive and resilient agricultural industry. Similarly, Khailee Ng, managing partner at 500 Global, pointed out that as food security becomes a global concern, Elevarm’s AI-driven approach, combined with traditional farming knowledge, offers a scalable model for sustainable agriculture worldwide.
