East Ventures, a venture capital firm in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, has introduced IndoBuild AI, a platform to strengthen AI innovation in the country. The initiative will help AI developers learn, build, and showcase their solutions to real-world challenges while connecting them with key players in the tech ecosystem.

IndoBuild AI seeks to accelerate AI adoption by facilitating knowledge sharing and uncovering new opportunities. The program includes structured activities leading up to a Demo Day, where selected participants will present their AI-driven solutions to industry experts.

The IndoBuild AI program will unfold in multiple stages, starting with a one-day technical workshop on February 26, 2025. This session will feature AI experts from AWS, Alibaba Cloud, and Google and cover topics such as AI adoption in startups, generative AI applications, and emerging opportunities. Participants will also receive guidance on the Demo Day format and submission process.

Following the workshop, attendees will enter the ideation phase from February 26 to March 5, where they will refine their AI-driven solutions. On March 10, East Ventures will announce the shortlisted innovators who will advance to the final stage.

The Demo Day, scheduled for March 13, will see selected participants present their AI solutions to a panel of expert judges. The two best innovators will be rewarded with cash prizes, perks, and additional benefits from East Ventures and its program partners.

Willson Cuaca, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at East Ventures, emphasized the initiative’s role in driving AI adoption in Indonesia. “With AI advancing globally, it is essential to foster meaningful discussions and accelerate local implementation. IndoBuild AI serves as a collaborative platform to bridge this gap and strengthen Indonesia’s AI ecosystem. We encourage innovators to create impactful solutions that can reshape the nation with advanced AI,” he stated.

Established in 2009, East Ventures is a sector-agnostic venture capital firm that offers multi-stage investments, supporting startups from early-stage to growth phases. The firm has invested in over 300 tech companies across Southeast Asia, including Xendit, Sociolla, Ruangguru, ShopBack, Traveloka, and Tokopedia. Recognized by Preqin as one of the top-performing VC funds globally, East Ventures was also the first Indonesian VC to adopt the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment.

East Ventures is inviting AI engineers, developers, and startups to participate in IndoBuild AI. Interested applicants can now register at https://east.vc/indobuild-ai/.
