Bike-sharing has become one of China’s hottest industries. It has been considered as one of the greatest modern-age inventions as it not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also aims to achieve more sustainable urban transport system. It has the potential to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions effect significantly. One of the leading bike-sharing platforms in China has been Hellobike. It is considered as the third-largest bike-sharing startup in the country.

According to recent reports, the company has raised billions of Yuan in a funding round led by Alibaba Ant Financial who is also the company’s largest shareholder. The other investors include Chinese conglomerate Fosun Group and WM Motor, an electric vehicle company.

Hellobike founded in 2016, focuses on third and fourth-tier cities in China. The company across 300 cities has over 200 million registered users. Last year September, the company rebranded its Chinese name to HelloChuxing to expand ride-hailing, electric-bikes, and carpooling services.

The bikes provided by the company are comfortable and sturdy. Bikes have been built with the double brake system and have an intelligent voice-lock system. The tires installed in the bikes are maintenance-free foam solid tires that provide a great ride experience.

Technology-driven bike-sharing platform

Hellobike’s Hubble big-data platform, ‘Harb System’ can remotely manage the dispatch and maintenance control center. It is also used to manage the riding trajectory of all the vehicles, vehicle vital signs, urban heat map and much more.

The company also has an intelligent operation and maintenance BOS system effectively connected with the big data platform. The maintenance and operation specialist can easily monitor the use information of the bicycle, status of parking, and maintenance via BOS system. This system also enables them to retrieve and repair the faulty vehicles via intelligent technical ways.

The ‘Harbin’ bicycles have a smart lock system based on smart car route that includes GPS, Beidou, Bluetooth quadruple positioning, base station, and two-way communication for precise positioning. The 3.0 version of the Harbin bicycles are equipped with the industry’s first intelligent voice lock that has been independently developed by the company. It also provides intelligent voice broadcast support.

The company uses AI-powered technology to ensure efficient operation. It is used to analyze the subdivision direction data. This includes improving the recognition accuracy of effective or invalid reporting, user reporting obstacles, and judging the accuracy rate.
