Indonesia’s ride-hailing giant Gojek and insurance technology company PasarPolis have teamed up to launch GoSure, an online insurance service that seeks to provide consumers with easy access to insurance products.

In a statement, the two Indonesian tech firms said GoSure would provide millions of smartphone users in the country with convenient access to a wide range of affordable insurance products provided by PasarPolis.

“The partnership also aims to increase the awareness and usage of insurance solutions in Indonesia, leading to more comprehensive protection for consumers,” according to an announcement Wednesday.

Since the introduction of GoSure’s beta version to a select group of users in October 2019, thousands of policies have been sold through the service, demonstrating significant consumer demand in this space, the joint announcement said.

Insurance products available on GoSure will cover a variety of needs related to travel, motor vehicles, and mobile device protection, all of which will be accessible through a hassle-free application and claim process.

“One of Gojek’s long-term growth strategies from the beginning has been to build partnerships and services that will deliver greater value to consumers,” Sony Radhityo, head of Third Party Platform at Gojek.

Through the launch of GoSure and partnership with PasarPolis, Gojek seeks to provide consumers with better protection and greater peace of mind when they go about their daily lives – all it takes are a few clicks on the Gojek app, Radhityo said.

GoSure is the latest product to launch on Gojek’s Third Party Platform (3PP). 3PP provides Gojek users with quick access to an array of services from best-in-class providers, including digital donations, e-commerce, news, health, and gaming.

PasarPolis CEO Cleosent Randing said the company wants to change the current mindset that insurance products are expensive and come with complicated application and claim process.

“We see Gojek as a key partner in our mission to widen access to insurance for Indonesians,” Randing added.
