RoaminRabbit Launches Jojo as Travel eSIM Providers Turn to Conversational AI

The 24/7 AI assistant is designed to help travelers select connectivity plans and troubleshoot common problems, as providers look to simplify the experience of using eSIMs abroad.

RoaminRabbit, a Singapore-based travel connectivity platform serving more than 100,000 travelers across 200 countries and destinations, introduced Jojo the Rabbit on October 19, 2026. The AI-powered virtual assistant is designed to help users compare eSIM plans, find promotions, troubleshoot common connectivity issues, and access guidance through natural-language conversations.

The launch addresses a persistent challenge in international travel connectivity: although eSIM technology eliminates the need for a physical SIM card, travelers must still evaluate data allowances, validity periods, destination coverage, and prices before choosing a plan. They may also need help with installation, activation, or connection problems after arriving abroad. RoaminRabbit says Jojo brings plan recommendations, troubleshooting guidance, and promotional information into a single conversational experience available 24/7.

The launch comes as eSIM adoption expands beyond traditional mobile subscriptions into travel services. According to GSMA Intelligence, eSIM accounted for 5% of global smartphone connections at the end of 2025, with the number of eSIM smartphone connections forecast to reach 4.9 billion by 2030. The opportunity for providers increasingly involves not only offering digital connectivity, but also making it easier for consumers to choose, activate, and manage it.

Jojo is designed to let travelers describe their requirements in everyday language rather than navigate multiple product pages or search through support documentation. Its recommendations consider a traveler’s destination and connectivity needs, with follow-up questions about trip duration, the number of users, and estimated data consumption based on planned activities.

“Jojo the Rabbit aims to simplify travel connectivity by enabling travelers to interact with it in natural language, without having to navigate multiple pages or search through support resources themselves,” RoaminRabbit said while conversing with AsiaTechDaily.

“When helping users select an eSIM plan, Jojo considers their destination and connectivity needs to recommend relevant available options. Travelers can simply describe their requirements in their own words, and Jojo may ask follow-up questions about trip duration, number of users, and estimated data usage based on their planned activities to help identify the most suitable plans for their trip.”

This approach could reduce the effort involved in comparing plans, particularly for travelers whose data needs vary by destination, trip length, or intended use. However, the company has not disclosed how its recommendations are evaluated, whether they are personalized using historical usage data, or how it measures their accuracy.

For technical support, Jojo provides guidance on common connectivity questions and problems. RoaminRabbit said the assistant would refer users to appropriate support channels when an issue requires further technical assistance or cannot be resolved through its guidance. The company describes Jojo as a tool for recommendations and troubleshooting guidance, not as a system that independently resolves every network or device problem.

The Broader Shift Toward AI-Assisted Customer Support

Travel eSIM providers operate in a market where convenience is central to the product proposition. Customers may need connectivity immediately after landing, when navigating an unfamiliar destination or contacting accommodation and transport providers. Delays in resolving activation or connection problems can undermine the value of an otherwise convenient digital service. Conversational AI offers a way to make support information easier to access, particularly across time zones. Yet making an assistant available around the clock does not necessarily mean it can resolve every problem without human intervention.

Gartner’s July 2026 survey of 3,566 business and consumer customers found that respondents were approximately three times more likely to use third-party generative AI tools than company-provided chatbots when resolving customer service issues. The findings suggest that companies must offer useful, effective support experiences rather than assume customers will adopt an AI assistant simply because it is available.

For RoaminRabbit, the practical test will be whether Jojo can provide accurate plan recommendations, help users resolve common problems, and transfer more complex cases to human support without creating additional friction. The company has not yet disclosed resolution rates, customer satisfaction results, or the proportion of issues handled without escalation.

From Connectivity Access to a Better Travel Experience

RoaminRabbit positions itself as an AI-powered connectivity platform combining eSIM technology with a network of telecommunications partners. Its stated customer base spans leisure travelers, business professionals, digital nomads, and families across more than 200 countries and destinations.

“Staying connected is an essential part of traveling today, and finding the right eSIM plan or getting support should not add unnecessary complexity to the experience. With Jojo the Rabbit, we want to make it easier for travelers to explore connectivity options, ask questions, and get guidance whenever they need it. Ultimately, our goal is to make getting connected and staying connected while traveling a more seamless experience,” said Glen Ramersan, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RoaminRabbit.

The launch reflects a broader evolution in travel connectivity, where the customer experience extends beyond purchasing a data plan. As eSIM services become more accessible, providers will need to differentiate themselves through plan selection, setup guidance, and reliable support when problems arise. Jojo gives RoaminRabbit a conversational interface through which to pursue that goal. Whether it delivers a meaningful improvement will depend less on its 24/7 availability than on the accuracy of its recommendations, its ability to resolve real-world connectivity issues, and how effectively it connects travelers to human assistance when automation reaches its limits.

Quick Takeaways

  • AI-powered travel support: RoaminRabbit launched Jojo the Rabbit, a 24/7 virtual assistant that helps travelers explore eSIM plans, find promotions, and troubleshoot common connectivity issues.
