Hartamodal Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian VC firm, has made its debut investment under the RM70 million Dana Impian fund by backing healthtech company Connect & Heal based in India.

The investment aims to support Connect & Heal’s expansion into Malaysia, where the platform plans to scale its managed care services. Headquartered in New Delhi, the company serves over 600 corporations, including 30 Fortune Global 500 firms, primarily through partnerships with multinationals and insurers.

Founded in 2017 by CEO Sanjay Vinayak along with Malaysian siblings Elwinder Singh, Galveen Kaur, and Salveen Kaur, Connect & Heal (CNH) has evolved into a major managed care provider in India. The platform now supports over six million users across 450 cities and facilitates more than one million clinical transactions each year. Its services span telemedicine, on-demand diagnostics, ambulatory care, and an AI-powered engine for insurers.

The startup’s decision to begin in India was intentional, drawn by the market’s size and complexity. “They proved themselves in one of the world’s toughest healthcare markets,” said Tan Cheng Wen, Hartamodal executive director. “Now we believe they can replicate that success here.”

“Having a Malaysian institutional VC on board is a significant milestone for us,” said co-founder Elwinder Singh. His sister Galveen added, “Building this with my siblings and closest friend has made the journey meaningful. We wanted to create real impact, and doing it as a family makes it more special.”

Managed by Hartamodal, the Dana Impian fund supports Malaysian SMEs and Series A-stage startups that demonstrate healthy cash flow or positive EBITDA. It deploys between RM500,000 and RM10 million into high-potential ventures across six focus areas: consumer retail, financial technology, industrial tech, healthcare, green energy, and agricultural innovation.

Tan Cheng Wen, executive director at Hartamodal, said the fund aims to back founders with resilience and vision. “Dana Impian is about funding bold entrepreneurs and giving them the support to solve real problems. We see this as a way to help Malaysian talent contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress,” he said.
