viAct, a Hong Kong-based AI startup specializing in construction safety and operational efficiency, has successfully raised US$7.3 million in its Series A funding round. The round was led by Dublin-based Venturewave Capital, with additional participation from Singtel Innov8, the corporate venture capital arm of Singapore’s telecommunications giant Singtel, alongside Korea Investment Partners and the PolyU Entrepreneurship Investment Fund.

The newly raised funds will support viAct’s efforts to further enhance its AI-driven solutions to improve workplace safety in the construction sector.

Following its successful funding round, viAct is set to boost its AI development by focusing on more refined real-time monitoring solutions. The company plans to create advanced models for workforce safety, hazard prediction, and environmental compliance. These innovations will be aimed at improving safety outcomes across high-risk sectors such as manufacturing, oil & gas, and construction.

In addition to technological advancements, viAct is focused on expanding its global footprint. The startup will use the funds to strengthen its presence in the Middle East, where the demand for AI-driven safety solutions is growing rapidly. As governments enforce stricter safety regulations, viAct’s AI-powered solutions are expected to meet these emerging needs, particularly in countries like Saudi Arabia.

The funding will also allow viAct to expand its team, particularly in areas like AI, engineering, and sustainability. By attracting top talent, viAct seeks to strengthen its capabilities and push the boundaries of innovation. The company plans to build an integrated AI ecosystem that continuously detects risks and enhances operational efficiency across a variety of industries.

Gary Ng, Co-founder and CEO of viAct, highlighted the importance of the investment. “Our goal is to revolutionize construction safety by using cutting-edge AI solutions to empower every stakeholder and achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency and responsibility,” he said. Ng also emphasized that the funding represents a financial milestone and a significant catalyst for change.

ViAct’s AI platform leverages 5G connectivity to provide real-time monitoring, immediate alerts, and data-driven insights. This integration allows for timely and proactive hazard detection, creating safer and more responsive work environments.

Singtel Innov8’s Managing Director, Wan Kum Tho, noted the role of AI and 5G in enhancing operational efficiency and safety in high-risk industries. As governments and industries focus on stricter safety regulations, viAct’s AI-powered solutions are becoming integral to bridging the gap between policy and execution.

Kelvin Wong, Director of Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, noted that viAct’s mission to improve workplace safety and sustainability aligns closely with the university’s commitment to nurturing ventures addressing global challenges. He highlighted the funding milestone as a strong endorsement of local talent and expressed continued support as viAct scales its operations internationally.

Oscar Ramos, Managing General Partner at Orbit Startups, shared that his firm backed viAct early because of the founders’ vision to modernize one of the most traditional industries. He emphasized that viAct’s AI-powered platform is driving real change by boosting safety, productivity, and accountability on-site. Ramos added that they are excited to support the company’s expansion, particularly in the Middle East, where there is strong momentum for innovation in infrastructure.
