Dat Bike, the Vietnam-based electric vehicle start-up, has announced a partnership with Gojek, Indonesia’s leading mobile on-demand multi-service platform. The collaboration aims to explore the potential of electric two-wheelers in meeting the country’s evolving needs of Gojek users.

From May this year, the Dat Bike Weaver++ electric motorbikes will be introduced in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the Gojek platform’s transportation and delivery service.

As part of this collaboration, Dat Bike’s electric motorbikes will be piloted by Gojek driver-partners in Vietnam, enabling them to provide transportation, food delivery, and courier services through GoRide, GoFood, and GoSend, respectively.

This partnership positions Dat Bike as the provider of electric vehicles for Gojek, making it the first technology company in Vietnam to venture into electric mobility solutions. By equipping Gojek driver-partners with the innovative Dat Bike Weaver++ motorbikes, the Vietnamese startup aims to contribute to the growing trend of green living and sustainable transportation in the country.

Through this initiative, Dat Bike will have the opportunity to support Gojek driver-partners to embrace electric mobility and experience the advantages it brings in terms of environmental friendliness and operational efficiency. By integrating electric motorbikes into Gojek’s platform, Dat Bike is spearheading the adoption of electric vehicles in Vietnam’s transportation sector, facilitating a greener and more sustainable future.

Son Nguyen, Chief Executive Officer of Dat Bike, stated, “This project is part of Dat Bike’s ambition of converting all gasoline motorbikes to electric motorbikes in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Through this pilot, Dat Bike aims to persuade more users, including tech platform drivers, about the power and convenience that electric motorbikes can offer. It also aims to accelerate the transition to greener transportation for a better environment.”

These electric motorbikes offer a top speed of 90km/h and a range of 200km on a single full charge, ensuring efficient performance and enabling Gojek driver-partners to maintain their income while providing reliable services.

One of the key advantages of the Weaver++ electric motorbikes is their fast charging capability. With a charging time of just 3 hours, drivers can quickly replenish the battery and continue their operations without significant downtime. Moreover, Dat Bike has established multiple community charging points in Ho Chi Minh City, where drivers can conveniently charge their batteries for free. Additionally, the Weaver++ model is equipped with a fast charging port, allowing drivers to charge the first 100km in just 1 hour at any household electrical outlet or in a mere 20 minutes at Dat Bike’s dedicated fast charging station.

Utilizing the Dat Bike Weaver++ electric motorbikes brings significant benefits to Gojek driver-partners, particularly in cost savings. Compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) motorbikes, the Weaver++ bikes enable drivers to save up to 4 times on fuel costs, reducing operating expenses. This benefits the drivers financially and plays a vital role in curbing carbon emissions and promoting environmental protection.

With its powerful 7000W engine and tubeless tires, the Dat Bike Weaver++ electric motorbikes offer great maneuverability, reducing the risk of punctures and ensuring a better experience for the drivers.

With the rising popularity of eco-friendly practices in various Asian nations, adopting electric motorbikes for delivery and pickup services has emerged as a new sustainable choice. This partnership reflects the growing emphasis on environmentally friendly solutions and integrating electric vehicles into the daily operations of Gojek’s platform.
